9 INITIATIVES TO BE IMPLEMENTED BY PERKESO UNDER BUDGET 2024

 

1. New Salary Cap for Acts 4 and Acts 800:

  • Increase the monthly insured salary cap from RM5,000 to RM6,000.

 

2. Facilitate Integration of Target Groups into the Public Sector:

  • All MySTEP appointments will follow skill enhancement programs through the
    MYFutureJobs platform.
  • MYFutureJobs will create job matches to build future careers and earn higher incomes.

 

3. Private Sector Job Support Scheme for Former Prisoners, Persons with Disabilities (OKU),
Senior Citizens, and Retirees:

  • An allocation of RM30 million with incentives of RM1,500 per month for 6 months to
    employers.
  • Address discrimination against three groups: OKU employees, reintegration of former
    prisoners, and poverty among senior citizens.

 

4. Matching Grant for Self-Employed Social Security Contribution Scheme (SKSPS):

  • Total allocation of RM100 million to reduce the burden on 500,000 self-employed
    workers.
  • The government will cover 90%, while operator companies are recommended to cover
    the remaining 10%.

 

5. PERKESO Career Build Training Program:

  • Extension of the career development program and “Microcredential” skills training with an
    allocation of RM35 million.
  • Financing training fees and income replacement incentives for over 9,000 gig workers and
    informal workers.

 

6. Financing for Social Security Contribution of Housewives (SKSSR):

  • Total allocation of RM50 million to benefit over 400,000 registered housewives in the e-
    Kasih system.

 

7. National Career Placement and Exploration Centre:

  • Allocation of RM7.25 million.
  • Establishing the National Career Placement and Exploration Centre under PERKESO as a
    one-stop location for young graduates and job seekers to receive career support and
    employment opportunities.

 

8. Career Exploration Program:

  • Allocation of RM1 million for 108,000 students in 2,400 schools nationwide.
  • Implementing the Career Exploration Program to provide exposure to students and career
    counselling for teachers in schools.

 

9. PERKESO Health Screening Program:

  • Allocation of RM10 million for 200,000 workers.
  • Extension of the PERKESO Health Screening Program as an early health intervention for
    the working population.
